The purpose of the facility is to collect the wastewater from the separation pools in the dairy farm for processing in an aerobic treatment (by bacteria – without chemicals). In this process, the water passes through the facility and in the purification process methane gas is produced as a by-product. The produced gas is sold to the local energy authority. In addition to the sale of gas, the facility provides added value in protecting the environment, as sludge effluents are discharged into the sewer system when they meet stringent environmental standards.
